Downtown Sandpoint on
1st Avenue
Our small community theater was built as
a vaudeville and movie house in 1927. It is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places.
Past performers have included
Bonnie Raitt,
Arlo Guthrie,
Wynton Marsalis, and
Mitch Miller. Actor
Viggo Mortensen began his acting
career at The Panida. In
addition to performance events,
including some locally produced, the
theater is also a film venue, showing
award-winning films such as
You and Me and Everyone We Know
and
Paradise Now in a film series
entitled "the Global Cinema Cafe," as
well as selections from the
Banff Mountain Film Festival.

The Festival at Sandpoint has been a
major local summer event since 1983. The
internationally known concert series is held
at Memorial Field in Sandpoint.
Concert-goers can sit out on the lawn or in
the grandstands and enjoy tasting local food
and beverages on "Festival Street." The
non-profit Festival at Sandpoint sells a
limited number of season passes to the
concert series every year. The music tends
to be an eclectic mix of performers and
styles. There always is a "family" concert

Idaho State Parks
Choose from several State Parks nearby. The
closest is Round Lake State Park and is
situated
in 142 acres of forest surrounding
a 58-acre lake at an elevation of 2,122
feet. The lake is the product of glacial
activity dating back to the Pleistocene

Schweitzer Mountain

Spanning 400 feet across the Sand Creek,
The Cedar Street Bridge is heralded as
being the only
marketplace
on a bridge
in the United States. The Bridge was
initially opened in 1983 by
award-winning passive solar architect,
Jonathan Stoumen and world traveler
Scott Glickenhaus to be Idaho’s version
of Italy’s famed Ponte Vecchio - the
800-year-old marketplace on a bridge in
Florence. The Bridge’s sole occupant has
been Coldwater Creek for the last
decade. Recently, the Cedar Street
Bridge was purchased by Clear Visions
partners, Jeff Bond and John Gillham.
Clear Visions is a development and
commercial investment firm here in
Sandpoint. Bond is also owner-broker of
the Real Estate office Tomlinson Black
Sandpoint. Their plans for the
marketplace include a vibrant mix of
